Recently Diagnosed with Dry AMD
by: Elizabeth

I have been diagnosed with dry AMD in my right eye, with so far nothing in the left.

I have undergone a complete diet change and started taking lutein supplements. I eat spinach twice every day, lots of fruits and peppers, take fish oil, eat tuna daily, and exercise regularly.

My mother has dry amd so this is genetic. I am 48. I hope the experts are right about how diet and supplements can slow this down. I keep a record of my daily diet and supplement intake in the hopes that regression of this disease will be just that simple--a diet change.

Lutein is not produced in the body, yet required to eliminate waste from the eye. It seems logical that this should work. I'll keep the site posted.
