Want to Reduce Your Risk of AMD?

The American Academy of Ophthalmology reports that over 2 million people have age-related macular degeneration in the United States and the estimate is that as the population ages, this number will climb to 3 million. My husband and I don't want to be one of those 3 million.
Like many of your we want to reduce our risk of ever developing this retinal disease.

AMD Risk Factors

We have some risk factors that we can do nothing about - such as age, race, gender and family history. But there are other things we can do to reduce our risk.

1. We've increased our servings of antioxidant rich foods and even grow our own blueberries and blackberries.

2. Our eyes are always protected from UV and blue light with amber tinted sunglasses.

3. We've reduced our consumption of unhealthy carbs.

However, there is an anti-inflammatory food that may be one of the best ways to reduce inflammation and is associated with a 38% reduction in the risk of late macular degeneration as well as reduced risk of early signs of AMD such as soft drusen .....
