Patients Share Their Success Stories in TV Documentary

I recently came across a documentary that was aired in February 2014 by the Macular Pigment Research Center (MPRC) located in Waterford, Ireland. The documentary highlighted several patients who participated in clinical trials at the MPRC that experienced improved vision.

The MPRC is a one-of-a-kind research center that focuses soley on nutrition's role in eye health and specifically age related macular degeneration. Consisting of state-of-the-art vision testing and biochemical laboratories, the MPRC is able to conduct studies that are of the highest standard.

Their research is focused on three important carotenoids for the eye - lutein, zeaxanthin and meso-zeaxanthin. Professor John Nolan is head of the research center and staff and answers some important questions about the role of these antioxidants in age related macular degeneration.
