Ok time for the part where in I nag ya'all to get your eyes checked!!!I wanted to share with you all what I see in my daily life - not for pity BUT to show you that any one can lose ones sight fast.
I woke up to this- your EYES are so important. PLEASE take care of them. Get your eyes checked every year!! or more.
Sadly mine was a rare case and was 1 year fight with medical doctors when I noticed changes in my eyes.
They told me after, that it was a family inherited disease- Wet macular degeneration.
Stargadgts- had 3 operations nothing more but I never let this stop me!!! and I lost all but some and NO it cannot be fixed now.
BUT LOL I see more than some in many other ways.
So my friends, this is why I don't contribute to all your pages like I would want to.
Be sure though I am Your friend and Care Or I would not have Asked you for friend requests!!! Love ya all... I hope my message gets to you PLEASE HAVE YOU EYES CHECKED!!!
... ok I now have decided to share this with you.. what happened!!!
I Guess I always had bad vision. When I was little people called me a clumsy child and to stop squinting so much. Needless to say not alot of productive support or doctor visits.
I always wore glasses since my early teens but they never really helped. When I was in my 40s about 46, I noticed bright sharp lights, in my left eye and sometimes, silly as may be, it looked like a camera shutter going click, click click.
I'll never forget that as....... it was frightening. I called my Dr and he called me in and looked into my eyes and said Mary Canni see a Tumor. Everything looks good. Go home, relax. So I did.. nothing got better over the next year and few months. I bounced from my family doctor to a specialist. HE told me, Mary, you may have a little cataract starting.
I tried to say NO!! I said,"Listen to ME!" Something is wrong. My eyes are clicking like a camera shutter and lights are striking me!!
Needless to say they thought perhaps I had too much time on my hands and stress was taking over.
Haha. So lets forward a wee ,,, Im 46 near 47. I went to bed, woke up and everything was a lavender purple. I panicked of course, shaking.
Rethinking, I seldom talk about this.. anyhow I got to my family doctor who looked and said hmmm maybe you should see a specialist today!!!
I then went to this LOVELY man who told me I need to have emergency surgery as 2 huge blood vessels had broken and another was lying on my eye.
So I went 200 miles to a hospital team who did photo laser .. I was happy i was getting treated - but I near passed out when I was told I lost my central vision that day too.
I also had 2 more lasers but that was 8 yrs now I think? I also lost most of the peripheral vision in my left eye from scarring and my right eye is not doing well!!
But yet again the doctors cannot see anything SO they say I'm OK.. .. I find it is hard to go out in the bright daytime unless i have my dark shades on.
Any how that's my story not much to tell.
New Hobby I have a digital camera!@!! I love taking photos and I seem to have a knack for it. I am saving for a Nikkon now .. keeps one busy.Smiles.
After 3 back operations and other severe health issues and a cancer operation 8 weeks ago now cancer free!! I think I like to Say Even though My vision is not very good I try to stay positive.
I try not to feel sorry for myself... but there are days haha.
I think I want to say "Look after anything about your eyes." If your body does not feel right INSIST the doctors listen.. and set an example to be the very best that you can. I try to do this in a happy manner. Hug sxx
P.S. FRIDAY I go back to the eye dr. Again My other eye has been acting funny. Wish me luck. Thank you for reading my babbling
