Receving treatment now, with lucentis for about 2 years

Mary Ann,
Actually there are two studies in New Jersey for wet macular degeneration. However, to be eligible for both of these studies, a patient cannot have received any anti-angiogenic drugs or injections like Lucentis.
However, there is a study in New York. Here is the link:

Hi Linda,
Many of the studies for dry macular degeneration are for advanced AMD called geographic atrophy.
There is a Phase II study that involves intravitreal injections given monthly or every other month in patients with geographic atrophy with several locations in New York. The criteria for that study is for patients 60 and older.
There are some other studies in Florida, Massachusetts, and Detroit, but none in New Jersey.
Kind Regards,
Leslie

Hi Rosalie,
Thanks for your email. The closest dry macular degeneration study is going to be in New York at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
The stated purpose is:
"The purpose of the project is to investigate in eyes with dry AMD, the efficacy and safety as preventive therapy of the immunomodulatory substance named copaxone which had been proven as safe and effective agent for a neurodegenerative disease, in arresting the progression as well as the conversion of dry AMD to wet AMD."
To find out more about this study go to:
