Wet Macular Degeneration - Clinical Trial

Sorry to send 2 messages, but in looking at your treatment section, it doesn't include any of the new treatments either fast-tracked or the new pazopanib treatment which, in my opinion, should be approved. It's currently in phase III trials.
Shouldn't they be included? I understand the new stuff for the dry form is on a fast track to FDA approval.
I have a rather aggressive form (or so I'm told) of wet macular degeneration in both eyes and am in a clinical trial for pazopanib.
Prior to that, 2 years of injections of Avastin and Lucentis yielded little results. The pazopanib has significantly reduced the fluid leakage.
If pazopanib works as well for others as it did for me it could be the next greatest thing for this condition.
Are you promoting these kinds of drugs and trials on the site? I'm suggesting promoting these drugs more prominently on your site to give hope to people with this condition. The drugs on the horizon for the dry form are quite promising, too.
I know from my own experience that this can be devastating. When it first happened in my left eye, there was only laser treatment.
By the time the right eye was affected, Avastin/Lucentis were being used. Now the drops may be taking the place of both. That would be a real God send.
Please take these kinds of things to the front of your website so that those newly diagnosed might have hope.
Warm Regards,
REPLYHi Barry,
Thanks so much for taking the time to share with us your experience with different treatments and now the study drug, pazopanib, for wet macular degeneration.
I gladly let others know about clinical trials that are available for macular degeneration treatment.
For others who may be interested in the the pazopanib study for wet macular degeneration here is the link:
Dose Ranging Study of Pazopanib to Treat Neovascular Age-Related Macular DegenerationAccording to the clinical trials website it is still a Phase II study. So the stated purpose is:
"... to determine the safety and efficacy of different dosage regimens of pazopanib eye drops for the treatment of neovascular age-related macular degeneration."
This means that the safety and efficacy is still being studied and there are no published results at the time of this posting. It is up to each individual as to whether or not they want to participate in a clinical trial. But thanks for bringing awareness to this study.
Kind Regards,
