Uveitis

Is Ocuvite PrserVision also good for Uveitis? Do you have more information on this subject?

REPLY

Thanks for your question. For other readers the uvea is the middle layer of the eye that consists of the iris, the choroid
of the eye, and the ciliary body.

Many of the blood vessels that nourish the retina and the eye are in this layer.

Uveitis is an inflammation of one of these areas.

There is a chronic and an acute form for this inflammation.

According to the University of Maryland:

"Complementary and Alternative Therapies
therapies may help reduce the severity of diseases that can lead to uveitis. Specifically, herbs and nutrients may reduce the effects of free radicals (unstable molecules that may play a role in inflammation and cell damage). In this way, these substances may prevent or slow the advance of uveitis when used together with conventional medical care.

Tell your health care provider about the herbs and supplements you are using or considering using."

If you are looking at supplementing with vitamins and antioxidants you can e-mail or ask questions of Dr. Marc Grossman.

He is a Doctor of Optometry and New York State Licensed Acupuncturist and co-author of many books.

Just send him an EMAIL with the name of your condition in the subject line and he'll get back to you quickly.

There is information on his website as well regarding uveitis and supplements. To go to the Natural Eye Care website click here:
