Ott Lamp

I have low vision and work where I need a lot of light to read. I have found that a portable Ott lamp is perfect for the job.

It has 30 small halogen lamps in it and runs off of 3 AAA batteries. The batteries are rechargeable so I can use it everyday.

There are several types of OTT lamps and they are excellent. I really couldn't do my job without this valuable tool.

I purchased my OTT lite for around $20.00. It is portable and I use rechargeable batteries with it. In any case, I use it at work. I am a nurse and I use it to read the MAR's. I can see fairly well but the light really helps take the strain out of it.

Being as it is portable, I can use it on the med cart. Ott lighting makes several models but the light they emit makes them very useful.

It is more like bright daylight rather than and incandesent light. I think most anyone would benefit from having one.

Thanks for your articles. I read them with interest.

Ott Lighting

My mom has macular degeneration and I have found ways to get her through the everyday trudge of seeing… I’m sure you have heard of an Ott lamp. It is sold at places like JoAnn Crafts, Michael’s Crafts Lowes etc.

These are the biggest hit for her and I hope all the subscribers of your program are aware. I changed out the chandelier bulbs with four Ott Bulbs and what a difference.

I also purchased two other types of lamps for her as well. One being the craft floor lamp magnifier that she uses to crochet and to do alterations with. The magnifier helps her see the stitch etc.

There is a handy clamp as well to hold the material too and or instructions.

The other lamp is also a Ott floor lamp that she uses as her reading lamp in her family room. These bulbs allow a brighter light and more clearer for her to see. Having AMD she continues to struggle, but with these types of tools available she trudges on.

I have designed a pouch that she can carry these bulbs in her purse to use if she visits’ my grandson or we go on a trip so she can see more clearly.
