Nordic Fish Oil
Nordic fish oil is an important healthy fat for not only our hearts but our eyes as well.
However, fish oil is not easily incorporated into the western or American diet. There are many studies that show the benefit of either eating several servings of oily fish a week or supplementing with fish oil.
Fish oil contains essential fatty acids (EFAs). They are called essential becuase our bodies cannot produce them and without them we die.
There are two types of EFAs:
√ Omega-6 EFAs - found in vegetable oils such as corn oil and soybean oil
√ Omega-3 EFAs - found in walnut oil, flaxseed oil, fatty fish, and marine plankton
The two critical types are:
docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and
eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA).
Both DHA and EPA are NOT found in plant food sources such as flax, walnuts or canola oil. These plant sources are rich in alpha-linolenic acid (ALA).
However, the metabolic conversion of ALA to DHA/EPA (combined) is very inefficient. The most direct way of providing DHA plus EPA for the body is through eating cold water fish or fish oil supplements.

What is Fish Oil
If you are reading this page you know or realize that not all fat is bad for us. I was one of those people who fell into the low fat craze who tried hard not to include any fat in my diet, not realizing that there are good fats that are necessary for many body functions. Now we eat salmon more frequently, use olive oil and flax seed oil for our dressings and supplement with nordic fish oil. Here is why:
1) Reduced risk of developing
early and late macular degeneration
2) Protect the Heart 3) Protect the Brain 4) Reduce Inflammation 5) Enhances Skin Health To learn more click here:

Fish Oil Mercury - Molecularly Distilled Fish Oil
Molecularly distilled fish oil simply means that the oil has been processed to remove all the toxins to make it safe for humans to take. Oils that are not molecularly distilled will contain traces of toxins that can be harmful to your health.
Omega 3 Research
I was very surprised to see that there are over 80 clinical trials as of February 2009, that are studying the use of fish oil as an intervention in macular degeneration, heart health, depression, asthma, prostate cancer prevention and rheumatoid arthritis.
