Magnification Help for Musicians who use Stands.
Are there magnifiers for musicians who need to read music placed on a stand in front of them?
Hello Musician,
One possibility would be to use a clip on magnifier. The magnifier could be clipped onto the stand. They come in different sizes and with or without lights. To see a selection of them click here:

Another possibility would be a floor lamp magnifier that could be placed near your stand.
The bendable gooseneck lamps would allow you to bend it and place it where you can see your music. For different floor lamp magnifiers click here:

Magnify Sheet Music
by Marney
(United States)
Hi Leslie,
I wonder is you ever have seen anything that could be used on a piano to magnify sheet music, or any ideas about optics (glasses) perhaps mid range adjustable that may benefit musicians reading about 12-14 inches away from the music?
I have searched the internet to no avail, and have visited opticians with little luck , thank you! Marney

Hi Marney,
I have two suggestions that may help.
1. Improve the lighting. Get a goosneck or swing arm lamp that you can adjust to bring it closer to the music. Get a lamp that provides bright lighting. With better lighting, often the need for magnification is less.
2. Enlarge your sheet music with a copy machine. Most copy machines have the ability to enlarge whatever is being copied.
Let me know how these ideas work for you. If any other musician has a suggestion please comment.
Kind Regards,
