Lighted Magnifying Mirror

by Vera

I could not get through my morning without my lighted magnifying mirror. It helps me see how much toothpaste gets on my toothbrush, if my hair is looking good, and if my lipstick is in the right place.

Find a magnifying mirror that also is lighted. You'll be surprised how much easier it is to do your hair, put on make up, shave. etc.

I have a magnifying mirror that lights up just by plugging it into a wall socket. Usually take it with me when I travel.

RESPONSE

Thanks Janet for taking the time to share your tip for living with macular degeneration. I often get asked about, "What is the best macular degeneration visual aid?"

The answer is, without trying to sound like a smart aleck, is the one that you need at the moment. Different tasks require different vision aids. The good news is that although you'll need many different magnifiers and aids, most of them are very affordable. Whether it is a large number phone, a pocket magnifier or a talking watch - there's usually some kind of aid out there to help with a specific task or hobby.

However, the combination of a magnifying mirror and bright LED lights is going to provide the best visibility for grooming, makeup, or hair styling.
