5X Magnifier

When I meant store bought magnifiers I meant the 2x magnifiers at Walmart or Office max stores. The macular degeneration doctor suggested that I purchase a 5x hand held magnifing glass. Do you have any magnifing glasses of good quality and that is 5x?

Lighted Magnifying Glass

Can you please help? My auntie has MD - I'm pretty sure it's wet .. nothing can be done and her eyesight is getting worse .. she is now struggling to read even with her handheld magnifier -
I was wondering if you could suggest the best lighted magnifiers for her situation - the one she has at the moment i believe is pretty basic .. many thanks .. i look forward to your response.

Hi Janine,
Getting the right power magnifier with a good light would be a great help to you auntie. Find out what power magnifier she is using now and then perhaps get a higher power and one with bright LED lights. A strong light makes it possible to use a lower power magnifier.
Hand held magnifiers are good for spot reading and full page magnifiers are good for reading books, magazines or newspapers.

LED Magnifier

Dear Leslie,
I am going to order the led lighted magnifier for my father.(The one that you said that your father in law liked.) I think that it will help him alot.
He loves to read and gets tired of holding a magnifier. The big screen for this magnifier is really an attractive feature.

Yes, my father-in-law has had this magnifying floor lamp for over a year and continues to use it every day to read books, magazines and the newspaper.
