Lighted Hand Held Magnifier

A lighted hand held magnifier is a helpful visual aid for macular degeneration. It is small enough to carry in your purse or pocket.

Folding Light Magnifier

As your macular degeneration progresses you will need more light and more magnification. So why not use a low vision aid that has both.

You will need different magnifiers for different tasks. Carry a lighted magnifier with you in your purse or pocket so that you can use it out shopping or for traveling.

Just like I have reading glasses all over the house, buy inexpensive lighted magnifiers to have in different rooms of the house.

The advantage of using a lighted magnifier is that you can reduce the magnification power that you need and you will be able to see or read labels, menus, etc. with less eye strain.

My father-in-law likes this macular degeneration magnifier from MaxiAids because it folds up easy and it is easy for him to replace the single AAA battery.

A good source of lighted hand held magnifiers is MaxiAids. They provide an assortment of different styles and prices.

A favorite lighted magnifier is the LED magnifier. It has 2.5X magnification and 12 LED lights.

I have ordered magnifiers from them and the delivery was very quick.

Hand Held Electronic Magnifier

The small, hand held, electronic pocket magnifiers are great to take with you shopping, traveling, or out to dinner. Some of their best features are:

* Pocket size - Small and lightweight. Fits in a pocket or purse
