Voice Activated Answering Machine
by Janice
(Philadelphia, PA)
My daughter bought me a voice activated answering machine. I love it. I don't have to struggle looking for the right little button to press. Just say "Answering Machine" and then say "Play New" and my messages are played. It's easy to re-play old messages as well.
From Leslie This is a great low vision visual aid. They cost around $100 and are available from MaxiAids. To see one and to read how they operate click here:

Large Number Phone
by Carol

I bought my mom a large number phone with a talking caller ID. It is easy for her to see and use because the number pads are extra large as well. For her we also needed amplified sound as she is hard of hearing too!

Low Vision Phone
by Larry
(United States)
I am looking for a better phone for my mother who has Macular Degeneration.
I found a "low vision phone" on your website-and it links me to a company called firstStreet Phones/Accessories.
I have talked with three different people from that company and they do not recognize this as being their phone.
The exact link that gets me to the phone I am talking about is www.webrn-maculardegeneration.com/large-button-phone.html
Thanks,Larry

Hi Larry,
I did some checking and the one I wrote about firstStreet no longer carries.
Maxiaids carries a nice Cordless Large Button Phone if you want to check it out.
Kind Regards,
Leslie
