Dry Macular Degeneration -
I have very recently been diagnosed with dry macular
degeneration which seemed to appear very suddenly -
prior to not needing glasses for several years
following cataract sugery. I am in my mid 70s.
The condition so far is only affecting my left eye, as
far as I am aware. I have just started taking
Astaxanthin, and also Macu-Vision. I am wondering
whether this condition will spread to my other eye,
and how one prevents the dry becoming the wet
MD, and what is known about above supplements and
whether they are helping others.
Macular degeneration does not spread - it develops because of other underlying physical causes - such as genetics, chronic inflammation, poor diet, smoking, or high blood pressure. Your other eye may develop dry AMD because of these common causes of AMD.
