Barnes and Noble Large Print Edition
Reading from large print books, with larger fonts, better contrast and spacing, will definitely make reading easier as your macular degeneration progresses.
You can purchase many books in large print, although the selection is limited - especially if you want to buy one from a bricks and mortar book store.
I checked out the Barnes and Noble large print books section today, and out of this huge store, filled with all these books - they had one 4' X 6' case of books in large print. You will find a much larger selection on line.
On-line, Barnes and Noble offers over 20,000 titles of large print books - a much better selection than going to one of their stores. You will see on the left navigation bar the option of narrowing your search by topic of interest.

Your Local Library
At my last visit to our local library, I was pleasantly surprised to see a large section of large print books - way more than what I found at the Barnes and Noble store. Your library probably has a large selection as well. If they do not have the book you want in large print, you can make a request for them to get it. Many people with advanced age related macular degeneration, can no longer drive, so getting to the library can be a problem. Many libraries are now offering services that will deliver your books to your home, your assisted living facility, or through a Books-on Wheels program. So if you don't drive give your local library a call and find out what kind of services they offer.
