Hello

Lutein and Zeaxanthin - Research, Ratios and Risk Management

Working as a registered nurse at a large academic medical center, we are constantly aware of risk management. The most common practices we use to reduce risk is to follow the policies and procedures of our institution and to provide complete and accurate documentation.

Decision making and critical thinking are part of my daily routine, but these practices all need to follow the guidelines of what is considered safe and standard medical practices. There is no guessing involved - good decisions are made based on good information.

Macular Degeneration Test

When it comes to reducing our risk for developing age related macular degeneration, it would be helpful if we could measure or monitor our risk so that we could make informed and good decisions about supplementing and performing diet and lifestyle changes.

Many of you may be facing the same situation we are. My husband has a 50% chance of developing age related macular degeneration. His father and many of his father's siblings all had macular degeneration.

Thanks to a company called ZeaVision, now there is a way to actually measure one's macular pigment. Why would one want to take this macular degeneration test? Because a low macular pigment is a key risk factor for Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD).

Find out more about this eye test, who should be tested and what to do if you have low macular pigment.
