Living with Macular Degeneration

The First Year: Age-Related Macular Degeneration: An Essential Guide for the Newly Diagnosed was the first book we gave to my father-in-law whose dry macular degneration has now progressed to wet AMD. He read it slowly and thoroughly sharing with us, often from each chapter, how much he was learning and how much he appreciated hearing from an author who is living with macular degeneration.

Dan L. Roberts, the author, has written a book that combines the experiences of patients who have AMD along with the knowledge of health professionals who work with those with AMD.

Dan was diagnosed in 1994 with two eye conditions - central serous retinopathy (CSR) and the dry form of age-related macular degeneration (AMD).

Not only does he know first hand what it is like to live with low vision, he's familiar with the struggles of others with low vision as the Founding Director of www.MDSupport.org.

MD Support provides free information on macular degeneration through articles, on-line videos, monthly telephone seminars and resource lists.

As a book author, web director, and frequent speaker, Dan has been a tireless advocate for those with vision loss.
