LED Magnifier - Light and Magnification

Hello

LED Magnifier - Light and Magnification

As one's macular degeneration progresses photoreceptor cells in the macula, degenerate or die. With less cone cells comes the need for more light and more magnification.

My father-in-law who has wet macular degeneration finds that LED magnifiers are his favorite magnifying light. He has LED pocket magnifiers and an LED full page magnifier.

There's good reason why LED lights and magnification is a good combination for those with macular degeneration. This low vision lighting provides soft white light, without harsh reflection, glare or shadows.

Here are some other benefits of LED lighting:

Long-lasting - LED bulbs last up to 10 times as long as compact fluorescents, and far longer than typical incandescents.

Durable - Durable bulbs with no fragile filaments to break from shaking and rattling. Because they are solid, LED bulbs hold up well to jarring and bumping.

Cool - These bulbs do not cause heat build-up; LEDs produce 3.4 btu's/hour, compared to 85 for incandescent bulbs.
