Low vision MagnifiersBefore you purchase your magnifier there are two things you need to know ...1) What you are going to use it for and 2) What power magnification do you need. Your low vision specialist can recommend what is best for you. The lower the power of the magnifier, the larger the field of view. The larger the power of the magnifier, the smaller is the field of view. If the magnifier is going to be used for a short period of time or for spot magnification, like looking up a phone number in the telephone book, checking a recipe, seeing a label or reading a bill then handheld magnifiers work great.
